Every Friday over at i <3 faces they “fix up” a photo.
I'm using Photoshop CS3.
Here is the original…
Edit 1: crop, clone all the background junk out of the picture, ying yang lighten on background, ying yang darken on face a tad, brighten eyes, magic powder, soft gold, and edge burn 15%
Edit #2: Just took my 1st edit cropped it closer and converted it to black and white
Edit #3: Just took my 1st edit cropped it closer again, ran grunge rock 36%, sepia 67%
Edit #4: I started at the beginning, faded the background, cropped it, soft gold action at 20%, lighten the eyes a tad. I wanted the soft look for this picture, the other edits seem very hard & bold and I didn't like how dark her eyes were in my first 3 edits. Edit #4 is definitely my favorite.
If you'd like to play along you can go download the original, and take your own shot at editing the photo at I ♥ Faces.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello! Haven't "talked" to you in a while. Hope all is well. I was looking over some of your posts and man, are your photos stunning!!

Beautiful!
ps. I have been using photoshop & new to it, & am wondering is there more to it than the basic editing?

Great Job on this. I love how you got all that background mess out. Still trying to figure that out through Adobe Lightroom. So confusing. :(
